A significant number of items exhibited in the room belong to the collection of Enrico di Borbone, and were acquired during his voyage to the Far East (1887-1889). They come from China, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia. Objects identified as from India and Nepal come from donations or acquisitions dating from the 1940s onwards. Certain Tibetan items having a religious connotation were acquired from Buddhist monks exiled in Switzerland.
