The material equipment of the Aboriginal people is essential and easily transportable, typical of a population of nomadic hunter-gatherers. Queensland wooden shields are among the most decorative works of art produced. The brilliant non-figurative designs that adorn them are underlined in black and, in their diversity, represented the individual distinctions of the warriors.
