Displayed in this large room are the more important and spectacular specimens of the mineralogy collection, ordered by thematic areas. The exhibits cover the geological structure of the Alps and the Euganean Hills, the history of mineralogy and its practical applications, the physical and optical properties of minerals and their influence on collecting, aesthetic values and gemology. And finally, an array of fluorescent minerals exhibited against a special light source to accentuate their wonderful colourings.
