From October 13th to 15th, the CICAP Fest returns to Padua. The topic chosen for this sixth edition is Facciamo la nostra parte (“Let’s pull our weight”), following the path traced by Piero Angela who, in 1989, founded the Italian Committee for the Control of Claims on Pseudoscience and accompanied it, making it grow for more than thirty years. Promoted by Cicap in collaboration with the University of Padua, the Municipality of Padua and the Province of Padua, the event proposes three paths of investigation and analysis to reflect on three pivotal values for the construction of a future in which scientific, civil and political progress proceed in harmony at the same pace: the value of responsibility, the value of transparency, and the value of facts.
Alongside Palazzo del Bo and the Botanical Garden, the Museum of Nature and Humankind is one of the venues of the University of Padua, will be hosting the event. It offers the public a special activity for children and young people on Saturday, October 14th: The Fossil Hunt. Among excavations, casts of finds and extraordinary original fossils, the youngest will test their observation and investigation skills and try to understand what our planet was like in the distant past and which animals and plants populated it. It is an opportunity not to be missed for all young aspiring palaeontologists!
It is an activity for families with children aged 7 to 12 and it is free of charge as part of CICAP Fest 2023.
Participation upon reservation:
Turn 1: from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
